MozSmsSegmentInfo

Summary

The DOM MozSmsSegmentInfo interface provides information about how a string of text will be automatically split into segments. Each segment represents a single SMS of a multi-part SMS message.

The MozSmsSegmentInfo interface cannot be instantiated directly; use the MozMobileMessageManager.getSegmentInfoForText() method to get such an object.

Properties

MozSmsSegmentInfo.segments Read only

The number of total segments for the input string.

MozSmsSegmentInfo.charsPerSegment Read only

The number of characters available per segment.

MozSmsSegmentInfo.charsAvailableInLastSegment Read only

The maximum number of available characters in the last segment.

Specifications

This is a non standard implementation, but it is discussed at W3C as part of the System Application Working Group.

Browser compatibility

For obvious reasons, support is primarily expected on mobile browsers.
