Range.intersectsNode()

The Range.intersectsNode() method returns a boolean indicating whether the given Node intersects the Range.

Syntax

bool = range.intersectsNode( referenceNode )

Parameters

referenceNode
The Node to compare with the Range.

Example

var range = document.createRange();

range.selectNode(document.getElementsByTagName("div").item(0));
var bool = range.intersectsNode(document.getElementsByTagName("p").item(0));

[1] Gecko supported it up to Gecko 1.9, then removed it until Gecko 17 where it was reimplemented, matching the spec.
