HTML - dropzone

This is an experimental technology
Because this technology's specification has not stabilized, check the compatibility table for usage in various browsers. Also note that the syntax and behavior of an experimental technology is subject to change in future versions of browsers as the specification changes.

The dropzone global attribute is an enumerated attribute indicating what types of content can be dropped on an element, using the Drag and Drop API. It can have the following values:

  • copy, which indicates that dropping will create a copy of the element that was dragged
  • move, which indicates that the element that was dragged will be moved to this new location.
  • link, which will create a link to the dragged data.
